It’s time for the second music event of the summer—and this one promises to be something special. Thanks to the money raised from previous Riverside events, we’re thrilled to announce that The Stamford Stompers, an energetic Dixieland jazz band, will be joining us for an afternoon of toe-tapping fun.
The Stamford Stompers are four talented musicians playing trumpet, clarinet, string bass and banjo/guitar. Expect a lively mix of classic and popular tunes from the roaring 1920s and 30s. Perfect for dancing, swaying—or just sitting back and soaking it all in.
📍 Where: Midsummer Lawn
🕓 When: Saturday, 9th August, starting at 4 pm until around 6 pm
The amphitheatre steps on Midsummer Lawn make for great seating, but do bring along a comfy cushion—or your own chair if you prefer. Feel free to pack your own picnic/snacks and drinks. And most importantly, don’t forget your dancing shoes. Invite friends, family, neighbours and anyone who loves live music. The more, the merrier!
At the moment, the weather forecast looks promising—but just in case, we’re prepared. We have the Darwin overhang for shelter and a large gazebo (thanks to Joan), so we’ll keep the music going, rain or shine.
To help us keep organising events like this in the future, we’ll be collecting small cash donations during the break between the band’s two sets. Your support keeps the music playing in our community!
See you there for an afternoon of jazz, dancing and summer fun.
