Hello
Welcome to the Cambridge Riverside Residents' Association—or CRRA for ease! We're an informal group, and whether you're a homeowner or a tenant, you're automatically a member. We warmly invite you to attend our meetings, get involved in our events and activities, and share any concerns you may have.
About our Residents' Association
Our goal is to foster a strong community spirit by promoting social activities, addressing practical issues and keeping Riversiders informed about what's happening in and around our neighbourhood. While we don't have a formal committee, we do have a Chair, Hilary Lowe, a Secretary, Jane Rickell, and a Treasurer, Keith Tritton.

We usually hold meetings by Zoom every two to three months. Agendas and minutes are distributed and displayed on the noticeboards in the entrance halls of each block. If you would like to receive this information by email, send your details to Jane via the 'Get in touch' form.
We work closely with the Management Board and are well represented on the Community and Facilities Committee, so any concerns raised to us are passed on to the Directors when needed. We're here to help make our community a great place to live!
Recent meetings
16th September 2025
This meeting was held in the Burleigh Arms, and we had expected two guest speakers, the Manager of the Grafton Centre, and our new community police officer, but they did not show up. One of our local councillors did attend, and was able to hear our concerns about local developments and anti-social behaviour. Other topics covered were the potential for air-con in apartments, and up-coming social events.
29th July 2025
This meeting was held in-person at the Burleigh Arms, and was very well attended. A new Chair of CRRA was announced and welcomed, and the new Head Porter also attended. Items raised and discussed included a review of the Association’s Constitution, antisocial behaviour on Midsummer Common, and heat mitigation in apartments. Updates were also provided on necessary infrastructure repairs and upgrades as the development is now over 10 years old.

2nd December 2024
For our final meeting of the year, we were joined by Councillor Katie Porrer, who provided updates on local issues, including planned local developments (the Grafton Centre and the Beehive Centre), traffic issues (the speed of vehicles on Newmarket Road), and Midsummer Common (motorcycles and the cost of keeping the cattle).

11th July 2024
At this meeting, our Encore Estate Manager introduced the new 'Places' app ahead of its launch across Cambridge Riverside. In addition, the Management Board's strategy for enhancing communication with owners and residents was discussed, including plans for a new website.

In March we were joined by Nick Gay, County Councillor for Market Ward, and Rosy Greenlees, prospective Labour councillor for Market Ward, to discuss current local issues—including hot topics such as electric bikes and scooters.

27th November 2023
We invited John O'Shea to attend this meeting so that we could hear about the proposals for re-development of the Grafton Centre. Katie Porrer, our local councillor, was joined our discussion.
