Hello
Welcome to the Cambridge Riverside Residents' Association—or CRRA for ease! We're an informal group, and whether you're a homeowner or a tenant, you're automatically a member. We warmly invite you to attend our meetings, get involved in our events and activities, and share any concerns you may have.
About our Residents' Association
Our goal is to foster a strong community spirit by promoting social activities, addressing practical issues and keeping Riversiders informed about what's happening in and around our neighbourhood. While we don't have a formal committee, we do have a Chair, Hilary Lowe, a Secretary, Jane Rickell, and a Treasurer, Keith Tritton.
We usually hold meetings every two to three months, usually at our local pub, The Burleigh Arms. Agendas and minutes are distributed and displayed on the noticeboards in the entrance halls of each block. If you would like to receive this information by email, register for updates.
We work closely with the Management Board and are well represented on the Community and Facilities Committee, so any concerns raised to us are passed on to the Directors when needed. We're here to help make our community a great place to live!
Recent meetings
12th May 2026
We were pleased to be joined at this meeting by Alfie Toseland, our Assistant Estate Manager at Encore, who talked about the Places app. This can be used by residents to report maintenance issues or concerns to the Estate Management team, and is a helpful repository of essential information about our development. The team also use the app to provide timely updates on any problems around the estate. Thereafter, the meeting addressed updates about the new food waste bins, lift problems and progress on the inspection of the fire doors and cladding. A survey seeking residents' views on traffic management is being undertaken by directors of the Management Board. 3rd February 2026
The meeting was held in the Burleigh Arms. We had two guest speakers, John O’Shea, Manager of the Grafton Centre, and Sergeant Kevin Sutcliffe, community police officer. John updated us on the development and future plans for the Centre and we will liaise with him to arrange a tour of the Centre for those interested. Sergeant Sutcliffe spoke about the make-up and scope of the team covering the city area and the focus of their work. He also responded to residents’ questions and gave us helpful advice about communicating matters affecting the community. The rest of the agenda gave an opportunity for updating residents about the social events calendar and communication about CR developments and in particular planning proposals affecting the immediate area. 16th September 2025
This meeting was held in the Burleigh Arms, and we had expected two guest speakers, the Manager of the Grafton Centre, and our new community police officer, but they did not show up. One of our local councillors did attend, and was able to hear our concerns about local developments and anti-social behaviour. Other topics covered were the potential for air-con in apartments, and up-coming social events. 29th July 2025
This meeting was held in-person at the Burleigh Arms, and was very well attended. A new Chair of CRRA was announced and welcomed, and the new Head Porter also attended. Items raised and discussed included a review of the Association’s Constitution, antisocial behaviour on Midsummer Common, and heat mitigation in apartments. Updates were also provided on necessary infrastructure repairs and upgrades as the development is now over 10 years old.
