What a week it’s been here at Cambridge Riverside!
It all started with a spooky, candy-filled Hallowe’en adventure that had the whole neighbourhood buzzing with excitement. After kicking off the festivities with a spooky song, our young residents, decked out as witches, ghosts, fairies and comic book heroes, set off with their parents and grandparents on an epic trick-or-treat tour. Each entrance hall and some of the townhouses transformed into mini haunted stops, complete with games and sweet treats handed out by costumed witches and wizards (and even a Cat in a Hat!). We also had a special appearance from Gandalf the Grey (aka Ian in our concierge team). A huge thank you to everyone who got involved and who donated candy and chocolate. We had a veritable mountain of treats to share, and it made the night magical!
But the fun didn’t stop there. Our grown-ups got their turn to celebrate with the return of the much-loved Safari Supper. This fantastic progressive dinner—missing from our social calendar since pre-Covid—was expertly organised by the fabulous Kate and Jane. The evening got underway at Darwin House with drinks and canapés, where everyone mingled and raised a glass to the night ahead. Then, the real fun began as guests split into smaller groups for the first course. The best part? No one knew where they were headed next or who they would be dining with until the course was over—a delightful twist that adds an element of surprise to the occasion. At the end of the evening, everyone reconvened for a finale of coffee and chocolates, swapping stories of the evening’s adventures. A huge thanks to everyone who helped bring back this beloved tradition, and cheers to all who joined in the fun!
This week was a beautiful reminder of the community spirit that makes Cambridge Riverside such a special home.
