Since reopening last year under new management, The Burleigh Arms has quickly become a standout spot in our neighbourhood. With owner Tom Arnold’s vision of raising the bar on traditional pub fare and Head Chef Kareem Roberts’ fusion of West Indian heritage and modern British cuisine, it’s no surprise that the pub has been making waves – even securing a place in the Top 50 Gastropubs in the UK.

Kareem’s innovative dishes have gained national attention, including his appearance on the BBC’s Great British Menu, and his creations continue to delight locals and visitors alike. But beyond the food, The Burleigh Arms is also a hub for the community, hosting our beloved Thirsty Thursday gatherings for Riversiders and bringing people together in a space rich with history – from its origins as the brewery tap for the old Star Brewery to its recent past as a well-known gay pub.

Now, The Burleigh Arms is in the running for an even bigger honour: a place in the Good Food Guide’s Best Local Restaurant 2025 Awards. And the team are calling on customers to show their support.
