We’re delighted to announce the relaunch of our Film Group. Originally born during the Covid-era, the group gave residents a way to connect by watching films remotely and then gathering on Zoom to share their thoughts. After a couple of years’ pause, we’re bringing Film Group back—and this time, we get to meet face-to-face.
For our first film, we’ve chosen Conclave. Many of you may have already seen it, but a quick straw poll at Thirsty Thursday suggested plenty would be keen for a re-watch. It’s currently available on Amazon and will also be showing at the Picturehouse on Tuesday, 7 October at 1 pm, for anyone who’d like to experience it on the big screen.
Our first meeting will take place at The Burleigh Arms on Wednesday, 15 October at 7 pm. Tony Brown has kindly agreed to be our informal Chair, and we’ll not only be discussing Conclave but also shaping the format of Film Group for the future. This is your chance to share ideas, help set the tone for our gatherings and of course enjoy lively conversation about film.
Whether you’re a cinephile or simply curious, we’d love you to join us.
